Casey Wilson is a Wheeling, WV, native and a 2018 Statler College graduate in mechanical and aerospace engineering. At WVU, Casey was a member of the Experimental Rocketry team and spent much of his time building, testing and flying the team’s rockets and motors. He also participated on the microgravity research team, ultimately flying an experiment on board Zero G’s “vomit comet” aircraft. Many of the organizations Casey was involved with at WVU were supported by the WV Space Grant Consortium. Through the Space Grant, he eventually landed an internship at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory where he worked on instrumentation for space telescopes. After finishing grad school in 2019, Casey started a career at SpaceX. At SpaceX, he is now a Lead Propulsion Engineer working on the Raptor rocket engine and the Starship rocket. Casey lives in Los Angeles with his girlfriend Rachel and their cat, Wally.
