David Gingras is the President of Bihrle Applied Research Inc. in Hampton Virginia and is considered an expert in the areas of flight simulation and high-angle-of-attack flight dynamics. He has been with Bihrle Applied Research since 1997. Mr. Gingras is a senior member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and a member of its Modeling and Simulation Technical Committee. He was elected Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society in 2012 and was an active member of the International Committee for Aviation Training in Extended Envelopes (ICATEE). Mr. Gingras was a lecturer on the topics of source data collection, flight modeling, and validation at the State University of New York, Binghamton, annual Flight and Ground Simulation Update short course for close to 20 years. Prior to his work with Bihrle, he worked as a flight simulation engineer for SAIC at the Naval Air Warfare Center -Aircraft Division (NAWC-AD) Patuxent River. Mr. Gingras earned his BSAE from West Virginia University in 1991. While at WVU, in addition to playing baseball for the mountaineers, he was member of Sigma Gamma Tau and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He went on to earn a Master of Science from The George Washington University Joint Institute for the Advancement of Flight Sciences (JIAFS) at NASA Langley Research Center in 1994. While in the JIAFS program he was assigned to the Flight Dynamic Branch performing research on low-speed aerodynamics. Mr. Gingras and his wife Melissa Gingras now live just outside of Williamsburg, Virginia with three of their five children.
