Mr. William G. Poulson, has 40 years of experience in managing programs, projects, and operations involving critical facilities and large engineering efforts in a regulatory environment. Mr. Poulson's expertise includes engineering, operations, and general management. His customers include the U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Navy, Corps of Engineers, U.S. Air Force, UK's Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, and a variety of commercial customers. He has managed high profile programs that have excelled under intense regulatory and stake holder oversight and recognized for the management and control of hazardous materials, spent nuclear fuel, pretreatment processes, and vitrification.
As the Executive Vice President, Projects, he is responsible for management, operations and customer relations at all URS separate sites and projects. Prior to this, he was the Managing Director of Sellafield LTD, the United Kingdom's largest nuclear operations contract with an annual budget of 1.5 billion pounds, which included decommissioning the UK's nuclear legacy, as well as fuel recycling, manufacturing and management of low, high and intermediate nuclear waste.
Previously, he was Executive Vice President of Management & Operations for Washington Savannah River Company. Earlier, he was Senior Vice President for the Energy & Environment Integrated Projects Group where he led a large and diverse organization that contributed significantly to the U.S. Dept. of Energy and other government agencies. He transformed the division to serve a major environmental and engineering role at Oak Ridge, Hanford, Rocky Flats, and for the Air Force. In addition, he was responsible for a number of key U.S, Dept. of Energy contracts including Washington Group's involvement at the Weldon Spring Remedial Action Project, Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Plant, and Hanford Waste Treatment Plant.
Following his WVU graduation, he started his career at W PWR Division in Pittsburgh. Mr. Poulson has served as a member of United Way Board, Area Churches Together Serving Board, and is serving as a Ruling Elder of Presbyterian Church. He and his wife Linda, reside in Aiken, SC, and have two children, a daughter, Dr. Rebecca Poulson working as an infectious disease researcher and expert at the University of Georgia and a son, Bill who owns and operates a successful commercial/industrial cleaning company in Greenville, SC.
